Thank you Dr. Margaret!
I had developed allergies and asthma in
my late 20's and they have gotten progressively worse over the past ten
years. This last year has been particularly difficult. I was taking medication
daily, which I was worried about, and I really regretted having to severely
cut back on physical activities.
At the suggestion of a friend I started
seeing Dr. Margaret regularly. I noticed a steady improvement in my health.
I believed that her work was really improving my health, but there was
little skeptic in me that wondered if maybe I was just getting better
on my own. Maybe my wanting so much to believe my health was getting better
was influencing my evaluation of the results. However, the following situation
really changed my mind.
Our 13-year old son, Max, also suffered
allergies. He adored cats, but very predictably, after holding one for
a few minutes, he would be sneezing and wheezing. At night, when he was
asleep, you could hear him wheezing from another room. Every morning he
would wake up with prolonged coughing as if he was a long-time smoker.
We were very concerned about his intense
sugar craving. We knew all that sugar was bad for his health. And he was
beginning to be concerned about being teased at school about his weight.
The issue of Max's sugar consumption became a constant battle. We tried
everything we knew to deal with the problem, from strict controls, to letting
him have anything he wanted in the hopes he would finally be satisfied.
(This is a kid who once ate so much candy one Halloween that he threw up
and then immediately afterwards continued eating more sweets!)
Having had some success with Dr. Margaret,
I set my skepticism aside and had Max give it a try. Is has only been a
few months now and we have noticed that Max can play with the cats with
little or no allergic reactions. There isn't any coughing in the mornings
either. The really amazing change is his sugar cravings. Now he sometimes
even FORGETS to ask for dessert! He still loves sweets, which is fine,
but they are no longer such a focus for him. In addition to health benefits
for him, it is such a relief not to fight about sugar so much anymore.

… When I
walked into Joan’s office, and gave her
a detailed story of the past seven years of my life, I half expected her
not to accept me as a patient. I was convinced she would find me (as had
doctors before her) too much a mystery and impossibility to take on. Luckily
for me, that was not the case. In the past seven months I have gotten on
the road to recovery that eluded me with five years of weekly acupuncture.
The treatments and discoveries have been like peeling an onion—layer
by layer, with some layers being revisited. We are addressing symptoms that
I had long ago resigned myself to just having to “deal with” for
the rest of my life. I have learned so much about my body, allergies, candida,
parasites, and metal toxicity. … For this lesson,
just as much for my healing body and new start on life, I can never repay
Joan and her staff. Thanks for the wisdom, time and space you have provided
for my healing. ~ Cyntha (this

From our Guestbook…
I have been fighting a form of arthritis called Ankelosing
Spondylitis for over 30 years. I have been a chiropractor for pretty
same period, so I have had access to the best chiropractic and medical care. In
thirty years, the most remarkable improvement I have seen has been from the care
of Dr. Joan Margaret. A combination of nutritional and structural
correction has allowed me to discontinue my NSAID drugs, and left me with
less inflammation and pain than when I was taking them. I have much less pain
on arising, I can hike for longer periods, and my blood tests show less inflammation.
I travel from Redwood City to see Dr. Margaret, and there are a lot of chiropractors
between here and there. I would recommend Dr. Margaret to anyone! Dr. Margaret
has my permission to use this testimonial. ~ Peter
Here's an appreciation of Joan for her kindness, her
charm, her absolute brilliance as a healer and teacher, her respect for her
patients and colleagues, and her continuing quest for knowledge and right
action—her own and others'. I have an overall distrust of healers which I am
able to abandon at the door of Joan's treatment room, and my trust in her
is never misplaced. In that room I have found healing and the knowledge and support
to create more healing that goes far beyond modality. Many, many thanks. ~Suzanne
